an evening in dwellingup
Saturday night we were completely beat after a day of fresh air and cycling but we thought we'd go check out the dwellingup community hotel. I was slightly apprehensive after the lady in the tourist info had actually said they didn't like visitors (!) but how bad can it be. Oh, i should also point out that it was cup final day (Again. They don't do extra time so a draw the previous weekend meant we had two cup final weekends!) so the drinking for some had started early. Well, we stayed for one (quick) pint, tried not to catch the eyes of any of the crazily drunk people, and then headed to the safety of the Millhouse Coffee and Chocolate Co. which was serving dinner 5.30 - 9.30pm. I love the fact that there was only one place to go for dinner because it meant we had no decisions to make or pondering over what type of food we fancied. We got tipsy on wine, ate some food, shared a slice of mars bar cheesecake (made by the waitress's sister-in-law!), bought some chocolate and wandered home ready for a cup of tea and bed at 9pm! And on our short walk back to the cottage, we got to check out the starry night, and oh my goodness, i've never seen a sky like it. It was amazing! It was like being in the planetarium. I seriously have never seen so many stars in such a clear sky. it was beautiful.
