this weekend we left the city behind to spend the weekend in Dwellingup. Dwellingup is just over an hour south and a little bit east of perth. It's inland near the murray river and it was very green. We packed the bikes in Bob (our fantastic station wagon) and set off on friday evening. R wanted to camp. I wanted to stay in a boutique b&b so we met somewhere in the middle (although definitely more at my end of the spectrum) and I booked Dwell Cottage, which was lovely and the garden was amazingly pretty. And we got some free lemons! Saturday we went mountain biking which was awesome. We cycled some of the Munda Biddi trail to get to the Marrinup trail which is an 8km single track loop. Now, i'm sure to experienced mountain bikers, this is but a walk in the park, but as a novice, i loved it. It was so much fun cycling on such a narrow track through the trees and over logs. And we saw kangaroos! And I so wanna cycle the munda biddi now. At the moment only the first part is completed (approx 500 kms) but the aim is for it to continue all the way from perth to albany. I'm thinking we should aim to do it sooner, whilst it's still short, rather than later!
